Hafazan & Al-Mulk Analysis Video

For this assignment, we were assigned to memorize Ayat 1-15 followed by an in-depth analyzation of Ayat 16-30 of Surah Al-Mulk.

I learned a lot about the Surah, especially how it relates to education.

As Muslim educators, it is important for us to implement Islamic ethics into our teaching method.

It is important for us to remember God and reflect Islamic teachings in everything that we do.

Wonder Forum

For our second assignment, we were asked to hold an online forum through the i-Discuss feature on UFuture. The forum revolved around the movie, Wonder.

Wonder is an amazing movie that touches on themes like bullying and tolerance. It also portrays excellent teachers and educators. It taught me the correct ways to del bullying in school as a teacher. Bullying hits close to home for me. This movie portrays it in a very genuine and heartwarming way and it has become one of my favourite movies.

It was very interesting to share my thoughts on the movie and enlightenng to read what my friends thought as well.

Quiz

Final Test

The CTU final paper asked 4 questions that tested us on the different topics in our syllabus. The test also tested us on more practical questions, giving us real-life problems in the classroom which we were to solve based on Islamic ethics.

For studying purposes, I usually refer to the notes and slides that Madam Norida provided for us..

OVERALL THOUGHTS

To prepare for the CTU Quiz and the finals, I even made my own notes.

These notes really helped me recall all the topics that we learned,

In my opinion, CTU is a very important subject to learn. I think it can be interpreted as our first look at pedagogy and teaching ethics. I particularly enjoyed learning the first topics it focused on the differences between Western or secular education and Islamic education. It gave me a distinct idea of the characteristics of both ideologies. This course teaches us to be educators who make sure that their students are taught holistically in a way that benefits them both in this life and the Hereafter.

Madam Norida is definitely an amazing lecturer. I am always glued to the screen during her classes because of how passionate she is in teaching. Even when explaining deep and complex topics, she never fails to present it in a way that is charismatic and engaging. I love the stories that she'll sometimes tells us too. They were all very interesting and endearing.

In a nutshell, I have learned so much about Islamic Education and I really think it has definitely shaped me to become a better educator in the future.
